During the summer months, many of us like to get on the road and bring our families on a trip. Although this is usually lots of fun, it can be a bit challenging when you’ve a young child onboard. Before you get going, remember to make a list of items that are essential for your trip, things that will make the experience easier and more enjoyable. Here are some must have items you should never forget.
1. Diapers & Dummies
Two things your baby cannot live without. When you are taking a road trip with your little one, you’ll need to have a good supply of nappies and their favourite dummy. At CMC Gold, you’ll find a wide range of baby dummies that come with care and safety instructions. When packing for your road trip, you must not forget the baby’s dummy and an extra one to be safe. Changing nappies is something none of us can avoid and when they get a bit anxious, a dummy will save the day.
2. Safety Checks
Don’t go anywhere with a young child if you don’t have the right safety chair. Before you leave, make sure you have installed the right seat. Younger kids will need a baby chair while older kids will be fine in a booster seat. While packing all the baby essentials, remember to bring items that you’ll need for your own survival. Don’t forget travel tools that make your trip more convenient.
3. Snacks
If you’re going on a long trip, you must bring snacks for the little one. They could be stuck in the car for hours and the only time you’ll get some peace and quiet is when they are asleep or eating. There are plenty of healthy meals and snacks you can bring along for the car trip. If your toddler gets cranky or bored, you can always pass them a piece of fruit to chew on to take their mind off things.
4. Wipes
Things get messy when kids start to eat, food goes all over the place and you’ll need wipes to clean things up. Wipes come in handy in so many ways, they’re great for cleaning when you’ve no water around and they can be used for all kinds of mishaps and messes.
5. Entertainment
This could be toys, puppets, or tablets. If you are giving your kid a tablet or phone, make sure you supervise them and give them material which helps them to learn. You can use apps that improve their vocabulary by showing them pictures of countries, animals, or colours. Some kids also settle down when you play relaxing music, so bring some CD’s along or connect the phone to the radio.
Going on a road trip with babies or small children doesn’t have to be a daunting prospect. As long as you bring the essentials, you’ll be fine. Make a list of things you need before you go and check them off the list once you’ve packed each item. Back the dummies & diapers, bring healthy snack, don’t forget the wipes, and bring entertainment.
