After starting dance classes at age 7, it wasn’t long until Bolle was accepted into the La Scala Ballet School in Milan, at age 12. A prestigious dance school, which only accepted Italy’s top up and coming ballet talent.
He was cast by world renown dancer Rudolf Nureyev:
As a 15 year old prodigy Bolle was scouted for a prestigious role in Morte in Venice by world renown dancer Rudolf Nureyev. Unfortunately, Bolle was not able to accept Nureyev’s offer as the theater itself turned Bolle down as they believed that he was too young to take on such as important, iconic role. Which they thought should be offered to a senior dancer who had plenty of professional dance experience up their sleeves.
Bolle became a principal dancer at age 20:
Thankfully, Bolle did not have to wait too long to become a principal dancer. By age 20 he was promoted to a principal dancer at La Scala. A feat which most dancers don’t accomplish until their mid twenties.
Bolle left La Scala at age 21:
A year later when Bolle turned 21 he decided to leave La Scale in order to pursue a professional freelance career as a ballet dancer. During this time Bolle danced for the Tokyo Ballet, the National Ballet of Canada, the Stuttgart Ballet, the Finnish National Ballet and the Vienna State Opera.
While most dancers choose to dance for a single ballet company for much of their career, Bolle was a strong enough dancer that he was able to win roles at numerous world class theatres. A testament to Bolle’s talent.

In 2009, Bolle took a principal role at the American Ballet Theater. Where he would dance for the next 10 years. As Bolle didn’t retire from professional dance till 2019.
